Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday shared a reminder that before rival Ted Cruz picked Carly Fiorina as his running mate, she slammed the Texas senator as being “just like any other politician.”
“Ted Cruz is just like any other politician,” Fiorina said during the interview, shared by Trump on Twitter. “He says whatever he needs to say to get elected.”

Fiorina, who mostly shied away from criticizing Cruz during her GOP presidential campaign, made the accusation during a CNN interview in January. She has since gone to bat for Cruz on the campaign trail, ripping Trump as similar to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Trump used the same interview clip last month when mocking endorsements for Cruz by his former GOP rivals, including Fiorina, who threw her support behind him after dropping out of the race in February.
During a rally Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis, Cruz is expected to announce that Fiorina will be his running mate should he win the GOP nomination.
Hours before the “major announcement” was teased by Cruz, Trump bashed the possibility of the Texas senator tapping Fiorina as his running mate, saying, “I can’t imagine he does it.
“He’s millions of votes behind, he’s hundreds of delegates behind … he’s got no path to victory, and he’s naming a vice presidential candidate. I guess that’s cute,” Trump said on “Fox and Friends.”
