Many of Donald Trump’s “groping” accusers are being debunked quickly after sharing their stories with the mainstream media. It has become difficult to keep pace with all of the supposed inappropriate touch claims and direct proof such incidents did not occur, even with clarifications being published.
Mindy McGillivray has been dubbed a “drunken” hoaxer for her claims that Donald Trump “nudged” her at a January, 24, 2003 Ray Charles concert in Mar-a-Largo, Got News, reports. There was no such concert at Mar-a-Lago on January 24, 2003.
The mainstream media jumped on the story, claiming the alleged nudge was an act of sexual assault. A quick fact check would have revealed the information cited in the groping claim didn’t ad up.
Melinda “Mindy” McGillivray told reporters someone bumped her backstage at the concert.
She was standing next to several people at the time including “Trump and then Melania,” and Joy and Regis Philbin. Trump did not propose to Melania until April 2003.
“Ray [Charles] already performed. He’s ready to leave. He’s saying his goodbyes to everyone,’’ McGillivray said. “All of a sudden I felt a grab, a little nudge. I think it’s Ken’s [Davidoff] camera bag—that was my first instinct.”
She continued, “I turn around and there’s Donald. He sort of looked away quickly. I quickly turned back, facing Ray Charles, and I’m stunned.”
In a photo by Davidoff Photos Studio, dated on January 1, 2003, Ray Charles is shown posing with Donald Tump after a concert. On January 23, Ray Charles’a performance in Seattle was canceled, and no concert was scheduled for January 24, 2003.
Mindy said that at the time she pondered saying something and making a scene or just quietly letting the “nudge” go. McGillivray said nothing at the time about the alleged incident.
Ken Davidoff said he did not witness any touching but had no reason to doubt Mindy McGillivray. “This was a pretty good nudge. More of a grab. It was pretty close to the center of my butt. I was startled. I jumped,” she said when asked if the nudge could have been an accident in a crowded place.
Her only evidence Donald Trump was the source of the nudge was that she believed he appeared to “look away” when she turned around after the alleged incident took place. Never before were the claims voiced in public, but Mindy claimed she and her family would “bring it up” periodically over the years.
