With the riots have come numerous deaths threats to both President-Elect Trump and his wife, Melania. Most have tried to write their threat off as a “joke” afterward. One individual, however, quickly learned threatening the president-elect is no laughing matter.
The man in question is a 24-year-old named Zachary Benson, from Ohio. He has been charged in a federal court for Tweeting a threat to murder Donald Trump on election night. (via The Daily Mail)
Benson is from Fairview Park in Cleveland, and he posted his Tweet after Trump was named the victor in the 2016 election race.
In his Tweet, he stated, “My life goal is to assassinate Trump. Don’t care if I serve infinite sentences. That man deserves to decease (sic) existing.”
And he released another Tweet that said, “Diplomacy. F***ing fools. I hate you all. I want to bomb every one of your voting booths and your general areas.” This is what the rioters today are threatening to do, and yet they have the gall to call themselves “peaceful.”
Benson was arrested a few hours after his Tweets were released on social media and he was interviewed by the Secret Service.
You can’t just threaten the President-elect and expect to get away with it, that’s not how the world works. Liberals all over the country are protesting, attacking neighbors who are Trump supporters, and threatening to kill the incoming President and his wife.
Benson is believed to be the first of many who have released threats against Donald Trump. But he claims that he has no intention of following through with his plan, he was just making idle threats. Do we really need to tell this man he shouldn’t make even idle threats against the President-elect?
He allegedly deleted the Tweets the day after he posted them, but it was too late. The Secret Service had already been called, and they were going to question him even if he deleted it. He has been charged with making a threat to a successor of the presidency, a charge which should be pressed against everyone who threatens the President-Elect.
I don’t care if it is a joke, it is unacceptable. Because you can’t tell if it is a joke or not, the Secret Service has to take all threats seriously when they are voiced. They can’t afford to take any chances when it comes to the safety of the President and those incoming into the position.
Benson appeared in court for the first time on the 14th of November, and is allegedly in custody pending a bail hearing. His parents must be so proud. The county, Cuyahoga, that Benson is from voted for Clinton overwhelmingly. Yet, Trump still won Ohio by nine points.
People need to stop threatening our President-Elect, and stop rioting in the streets. It’s too late, Donald Trump has won, and many people are happy about it. But instead of being able to celebrate the change that will be implemented, now we have to worry about death threats and violence.
Liberals needs to grow up, get a job, and stop spending all their time on Twitter because it’s turning them into psychopaths.
