An armed thug entered a bar in Queens, New York, with seriously sick intentions. However, someone in that bar was a godsend because whatever this thug had planned did not go down the way he intended. This man stood ready to defend the establishment and the lives in it.
The incident occurred Monday around 4 a.m. at Parkside Tavern. Andrew McCleaned, the suspect, entered the bar armed with a semi-automatic handgun. He proceeded to steal all of the money from the cash register and then turned his intentions on the patrons.
As McClean attempted to rob the patrons inside the bar, most of them, fearing for their lives, gave in. However McClean soon encountered a 69-year-old man who had a trick up his sleeve.
The man was a retired New York Police Department cop.
McClean demanded the older man give up his money and possessions, and that is when the former police officer drew his own gun and shot McClean once in the head. McClean was pronounced dead at the scene.
The retired police officer was not named by news officials, but it was reported that he used to work as an officer in Upper Manhattan for several years before retiring with three-quarters disability benefits. The best news of all, this hero was not charged with a crime following the incident.

The people of that bar are lucky that this man was here and more importantly that he had a weapon on him to protect all of them. This is what the Second Amendment is all about.
