Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, whose ultimately unsuccessful run for the Republican presidential nomination included a series of battles with news media outlets over their coverage of his candidacy, took a verbal shot at the media on Wednesday. Carson also said that if his Alzheimer’s-stricken mother were able, the media would have received more than just a stern admonition.
Carson said Trump would bring something to the White House that has been lacking.
“He has a very good understanding of business, of business principles, and that seems to be something that has been lacking in our leadership for many years. Not just the current administration, but going back many, many administrations. Just making horrible deals for the American people,” Carson said.
In a normal setting this is a folksy tribute to his mom’s strength and loyalty. It’s only a “gaffe” in politics. https://t.co/L2V4I7mfY8
