Fox News host Bill O’Reilly took a portion of The O’Reilly Factor Tuesday to discuss the decision by SiriusXM to temporarily suspend The Glenn Beck Radio Program.
According to Breitbart, the discussion, which took place with Karl Rove, a contributor for Fox, centered around remarks made by author Brad Thor while he was on Glenn Beck’s program. During the show, Thor asked, “Who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as president? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitutional-granted authority, I should say, as president?”
The remark was criticized by both O’Reilly and Rove. O’Reilly went on to say, “You can’t do that. You just can’t because that incites violence in the minds of some crazy people.”
Rove called the remark reprehensible and criticized Beck for not saying this to Thor when the remark was made.
Thor also compared Trump to a South America-style dictator, adding that, should he be elected president, Trump would cause an “extinction-level event.”
O’Reilly went on to assert that Beck’s failure to confront Thor about the remarks led to his suspension.
In a statement following the suspension, the satellite radio company said, “SiriusXM encourages a diversity of discourse and opinion on our talk programs. However, comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced Glenn Beck Program, in our judgement, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot and will not condone.”
