Popular Fox News host Bill O’Reilly recently made an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where one of the main topics of discussion was the upcoming presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton.
O’Reilly stated that he believed the debate could prove as the end point for the campaign of either of the two candidates, should they not be on their best behavior while on the stage.
After first noting that debate would be “fun” and likely draw “huge” ratings, O’Reilly nevertheless warned that if Trump engaged in the same sort of insulting behavior as he did during the GOP primary debates, “that would be the end of him.”
Speaking of those early debates, O’Reilly declared, “I thought I was watching Don Rickles.”
“If he starts that with Hillary Clinton, ‘you’re crooked. Crooked Hillary,’ He’ll lose. That’ll be the end of him,” he said, before adding, “On the other side, Hillary Clinton is calling him all kinds of names. Misogynist. Racist. If she starts that, she’ll lose.”
O’Reilly said that American voters are looking for problem solvers, and while the back-and-forth insults are no doubt entertaining, serious-minded people have heard enough of that thus far in the election cycle.
O’Reilly then proceeded to offer up some unsolicited advice to Clinton, declaring, “If she’s smart on Monday, she’ll get right into policy, and then look at him and go, ‘Do you know what I’m talking about?’ Because maybe he won’t.”
“She knows who the leaders are, what the vibe is,” O’Reilly added, though he countered that by mentioning her rather “dubious” record of accomplishments over years of public service that Trump could exploit during the debate.
