Even though FBI Director James Comey failed the American public when he did not push for charges against Hillary Clinton, the issue is not going away. During Comey’s pathetic discussion of Clinton’s email server, one he openly said violated many rules and laws, he never mentioned the fact that the woman clearly lied under oath.
She said she never sent or received classified documents on that unsecured server. Yet Comey acknowledged there were many, including ones marked Top Secret, that she sent and received.
As Americans, we were all flabbergasted that he did not highlight this fact. Lying under oath is a serious crime, one that brings heavy penalties and cannot be ignored. But apparently Comey openly ignored it. His reason to Congress is even more ridiculous.
From The Political Insider:
Director James Comey testified last week on why he failed to bring charges against the former Secretary of State, despite a myriad of evidence that she had broken the law. During an exchange with committee chairman Jason Chaffetz, Comey admitted that the FBI never bothered to investigate Clinton for possibly lying to Congress about her emails in past testimony because they were never given a referral to do so.
Flabbergasted, Chaffetz asked “Do you need a referral from Congress?”
“Sure do,” Comey responded.
“You’ll have one,” Chaffetz promised.
Really? Since when does the FBI need guidance from Congress to investigate a crime? Hillary’s testimony under oath (something that is in writing) is directly connected to their case. You’d think that would be a top item to investigate, when you’re looking for see if the former secretary of state BROKE THE LAW. Yet this ignorant, unqualified, joke of an FBI director looked the other way.
Now Republican leadership in Congress is forming a committee to investigate Hillary’s lying. They will clearly expose her corruption in this matter, only further exposing her true nature and perhaps bringing the charges she deserves.
“The evidence collected by the FBI during its investigation of Secretary Clinton’s use of a personal email system appears to directly contradict several aspects of her sworn testimony,” Chaffetz and Goodlatte wrote in the letter.
“In light of those contradictions, the Department should investigate and determine whether to prosecute Secretary Clinton for violating statutes that prohibit perjury and false statements to Congress, or any other relevant statutes,” the letter continues.
It’s what every other person in the country would face if they lied under oath. We know Hillary lied multiple times about her email server. We know she signed a sworn document, under oath, that she never sent classified material on her illegal server. There’s no way she’s getting out of this except for an obvious and gross manipulation of the law.
And the American people will be watching.
But for now, let’s all acknowledge just how much Director Comey failed in his duties. Perhaps if we put enough pressure on the government, this incompetent director will be removed from power.
