Ever since billionaire businessman Donald Trump wrapped up the GOP nomination for all intents and purposes, the media has been laser-focused on if/when peaker of the House and putative GOP leader Paul Ryan would endorse him.
It would appear that that day has finally arrived, if a Thursday afternoon statement from the speaker can be taken at face value.
According to AFP via Yahoo Finance, Ryan threw his support behind the likely GOP nominee with a tweet that should go a long way toward finalizing the coalescing of the party around Trump.
Ryan tweeted, “I’ll be voting for @realDonaldTrump this fall. I’m confident he will help turn the House GOP’s agenda into laws.”

Almost immediately after the long-awaited announcement from Ryan, several pundits and cable news anchors were quick to play semantics and point out that Ryan hadn’t “officially” endorsed Trump, as he didn’t specifically use the “e-word” in his statement.
That notion was quickly put to rest though by none other than Ryan’s own chief communications adviser, Brendan Buck, who tweeted, “We’re not playing word games, feel free to call it an endorsement.”

Ryan’s endorsement of Trump was met with gratitude by former speaker of the House and current Trump ally Newt Gingrich, who praised Ryan’s patience and leadership in finally coming around to support Trump.
Speaker Paul Ryan showed real leadership in patiently working through key issues and then endorsing Trump. The right way to do it.

Not lost in all of this was the fact that presumptive Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton was delivering a highly touted foreign policy speech today, one in which she mostly slammed her likely opponent and which has now been overshadowed by the GOP circling the wagons around their candidate while she still has yet to attain her own party’s nomination.
Paul Ryan endorsing Trump tonight far more significant than Hillary’s eloquent/powerful speech. GOP rallying behind their man.

This is great news for Trump and his supporters, as well as those Republicans still sitting on the fence, waiting to see which direction the party leadership would go. It is now clearly evident by Ryan’s announcement that the party is backing Trump to the fullest.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word that Speaker Paul Ryan has endorsed Trump for president and declared that he will vote for him in the general election.
