In a situation currently unfolding in Bangladesh, there are reports that as many as nine gunmen entered a local bakery where an unknown number of patrons have been wounded. The gunmen are holding the patrons hostage.
NBC News reported that the gunmen killed four police officers and took dozens of people hostage.
Fox News, quoting a kitchen staff worker at the restaurant who was interviewed by local television, reported that the attackers chanted “Allahu Akbar” as they launched the attack. Fox also reported that “a huge contingent of security guards cordoned off the area and the restaurant as they traded gunfire with the attackers who set off explosions.”
The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka posted a tweet on the attack.
