Though we are constantly told by our government that radical Islamic terrorism isn’t a problem and we have nothing at all to worry about, there is nevertheless yet another ongoing terror incident, this time in the southeast-Asian nation of Bangladesh.
According to Sky News, upwards of nine gunmen stormed a restaurant popular with foreigners in the diplomatic zone of the capital city of Dhaka.
Early reports claimed that at least three police officers were wounded in an exchange of gunfire with the group of terrorists. An unknown number of mostly foreign nationals, possibly as many as 60, were reportedly being held hostage by the jihadists.
Describing the situation as “fluid,” the U.S. State Department has urged any American citizens in the country to “shelter in place,” though it was not immediately clear whether any Americans were included among the hostages.
