The left and many naive Americans scoffed at Donald Trump’s bold statement about Muslim immigrants. When he called for a temporary ban on allow immigrants from Muslim countries, many critics called him racist, bigoted, and a litany of other insults. They refused to acknowledge the motivation behind the statement, the unending list of terrorist attacks perpetrated by Muslims within the US.
It’s an inconvenient truth to be sure, but we are seeing more and more Muslims with no tied to terrorists being converted to the cause. American-born Muslims, whose families emigrated a generation or two ago, are being duped by radical imam here and overseas. These leaders manipulate American citizens’ faith, convincing them to kill for the cause of jihad. They were not born terrorists, they were made.
Nidal Hassan was one of these people. A member of the military, he was swayed by the words of American Muslim Anwar al-Awlaki to enact jihad on American soil. In 2009 he killed 13 people on the grounds of Fort Hood.
Although Awlaki has since been killed, his rhetoric continues to inspire other Muslims–American citizens–to plan attacks against their neighbors.
From Allen B West:
A former member of the Army National Guard living in Sterling, Va., is accused of trying to plan an domestic terror attack on behalf of the Islamic State.
Mohamad Bailor Jalloh was arrested Sunday and charged with attempting to provide material support to the terrorist organization, according to papers filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Jalloh, a native of Sierra Leone, is a U.S. citizen. He quit the National Guard after listening to the lectures of deceased radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, according to court documents, and became involved in planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
Jalloh was inspired by Awlaki’s words that every Muslim was called to resist American. He stated he wanted to commit murder in the fashion of the Fort Hood shootings. In addition to this, he wanted to kill a known cartoonist who drew pictures of Muhammad, a popular target for terrorist.
Jalloh purchased a Glock handgun in February but was unsuccessful in trying to buy an assault rifle in Charlotte, N.C., last month, according to the documents.
On July 2, he visited a gun store in Chantilly, Va., but didn’t have the proper paperwork to purchase a Bushmaster AR-15 he was looking at, according to the documents. He returned that evening and bought another assault rifle, authorities said, but the FBI was surveilling him and the weapon was rendered inoperable before he left the store.
Jalloh is at least the third former US military-trained individual arrested for planning a terror attack. It’s a sad reality that American citizens are betraying the land that welcomed them, educated them, and trained them, in the name of jihad. Even if we close our borders to Muslim immigrants, any number of American Muslims can be manipulated by these terrorists.
It won’t be until we eradicate the voices of al Qaida and ISIS from the globe that the threat will be gone.
