ABC News is reporting a sheriff’s officer is in critical condition after the marked police vehicle he was riding in as part of the funeral procession for a victim of the Orlando nightclub massacre was struck by another car.
A female driver apparently crashed into the procession as it was headed to the grave site in Kissimmee, Fla., about 20 miles south of Orlando, injuring the officers that were leading the procession.
Currently one of them is in critical condition but the other is stable. They are both officers from the Osceola Country Sheriff’s Office.
The female driver that crashed into the squad car was not injured but was “distraught after the crash and wanted to be checked out,” a sheriff’s department spokesman said.
It has not yet been determined what charges she might face.
