During Bill and Hillary Clinton’s time in the White House, CNN became known as “Clinton News Network” because of all they did to try to keep them there. They’ve done the same this time for Hillary more recently, although with limited results.
However, if America’s caught on to Hillary Clinton, CNN figures that there’s more than one way to skin a cat. Therefore, they’re going to make an unprecedented move and provide a town hall forum in prime time to a third-party challenger to Donald Trump on the right.
According to The Hill, CNN announced Wednesday that it would be sponsoring a town hall with Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and his running mate to air next Wednesday at 9 p.m. The event will take place in New York City and will be moderated by one of of the network’s top anchors, Chris Cuomo.
The Libertarian Party ticket consists of Johnson, a two-term governor of New Mexico, and running mate William Weld, also elected to two terms as governor of Massachusetts.
Both were once Republicans, with Johnson even running for the Republican nomination in 2012. However, once he realized he wasn’t going to get anywhere near the nomination, he suddenly discovered he was Libertarian. Quelle surprise!
Johnson received a little under one percent of the vote in 2012 as a Libertarian, but due to the acrimony and the #NeverTrump crowd, many polls have seen him as high as 12 percent this year.
However, while the media is willing to paint Trump as vulgar and weird at every opportunity, they probably won’t show this clip of Gov. Johnson talking about Trump on the campaign trail (WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE):
Yeah, that’s normal. Vulgarity aside, that guy comes across a little like someone who’s been up for six days straight on Colombia’s second-most famous export.
But these issues don’t matter to the liberals at CNN. After all, they’re not trying to put forth a candidate they feel it’s in America’s best interest to learn about. They’re not doing this out of fairness. They’re simply using this town hall as advertising time against Donald Trump.
