According to recent reports, Fox News Channel host Neil Cavuto’s ongoing leave of absence included a recent open-heart surgery. A network source confirmed the Your World anchor, off the air since the end of last month, underwent the procedure on Monday and all went as planned.
“Knowing Neil,” the source noted, “he’ll be back as soon as he can, but he is slated to return to hosting his three programs on Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network later this year.”
Fox News joined numerous viewers in wishing Cavuto a speedy recovery.

Many of the thoughts and prayers extended came from fans who had no idea why he had been off air for several weeks.

Cavuto’s recent hospitalization was not the first health scare for the host. He has lived with multiple sclerosis for nearly two decades, and prior to that diagnosis, he battled and beat cancer.
Of his MS diagnosis, Cavuto said in a 2007 interview with TV Newser that it has proven more devastating than cancer.
“There’s no endgame here,” he said, “no cure here, no concoction of chemotherapy or radiation that could make it all go away.”
