BREAKING: Santorum Makes Stunning Trump Announcement… Nobody Saw This Coming

Former Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum Sunday said Donald Trump is qualified to be commander in chief, following Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) refusal to say the same thing.

“You think he’s qualified?” asked ABC host Martha Raddatz on “This Week.”

“Well, I do. I mean, I’ve had the opportunity to spend some time with Donald Trump,” Santorum, Trump’s former primary rival, said.

“As you can imagine, I mean, he’s a very engaging man. He’s — he puts on an image as a lot of candidates and I think all of us do when we’re in front of a microphone that’s really tough and combative.”

Santorum endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) shortly after suspending his own presidential campaign in February. But he then endorsed Trump in May after Rubio dropped out.

Now he says Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, is a good businessman and would be constructive in the White House.

“He knows how to put the deal together. And I think he’d be a — he’ll be a very constructive figure in the White House.”
