BREAKING: Trey Gowdy Drops Bombshell About Benghazi Report… Sanders THRILLED

Bernie Sanders usually isn’t the type to get all jazzed about Republicans. However, something Rep. Trey Gowdy just said may have made the South Carolina “bulldog” Sanders’ new best friend.

In an interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC’s “MTD Daily” on Friday, Gowdy said his House Select Committee on Benghazi would be releasing a draft report on Hillary Clinton’s role in the Benghazi attacks before the Democratic National Convention in July.

While it may not be the full report or sway the nomination to Sanders’ side, the news could mean that the convention will be far more contested than previously thought.

“We’re going to get the report out — it will be in the next month,” Gowdy told Todd, “and then I’ll let the reader know: This is what we’re missing, these are the agencies that haven’t produced it to us, and if witnesses come forward after the publication of our report, I’ll let the readers know that.”

Gowdy, who has hit resistance from the Obama administration at every turn of the investigation, said he would have liked to have the report out last summer for “personal and professional reasons,” but said that the voters were owed a report before the conventions in July.

He also added that the report would seek to answer three questions: “Why were we there, and whether or not the facility was sufficiently secure. What happened during the pendency of the attacks? And whether or not the American people were leveled with in the aftermath.”

“There’s going to be new information in all three tranches of Benghazi,” Gowdy said. “I don’t want you to take my word for it. I want you to read it for yourself, and you can draw whatever conclusions you want to draw.”

Watch out, Hillary — Trey Gowdy may have just given Bernie Sanders the ammunition he needs.
