Hillary Clinton’s overtures to Bernie Sanders supporters just might be falling on deaf ears, and recent revelations demonstrate there is good reason for it. Apparently, Clinton is not only dishonest, but she thinks she is better than everyone else to boot, including Sanders’s loyal followers.
Sanders supporters are furious with the latest WikiLeaks revelation because Hillary aide Jake Sullivan literally compared them to Soviet Union communists, per The Daily Caller. Sullivan was primarily mocking them for their belief in a $15 minimum wage.
The “fight for 15” was a staple of Sanders’s campaign, and Sullivan said his followers were members of the “Red Army” in an email to campaign chair John Podesta, communications director Robby Mook, and Center for American Progress president Neera Tanden. Sullivan replied to an email from Tanden regarding the “progressive agenda,” which was a list of policies put together by those on the far-left in the Democrat party.
“Substantively, we have not supported $15 – you will get a fair number of liberal economists who will say it will lose jobs,” Tanden wrote to the others. “Most of rest seems fine (obviously trade sticks out). Politically, we are not getting any pressure to join this from our end. I leave it to you guys to judge what that means for you, but I’m not sweating it.”
Sullivan then replied to Tanden with his arrogant comment. “John Podesta (and the Red Army) want to support $15!” In communist Russia, the Red Army was the name given to its military leadership.
Truly, the evolution of the Democrat party is fascinating to watch in this case. To her credit, Tanden had a great retort: “And when you say Red Army, you mean the base of Democratic party, right? Just want to be clear here.” Always the obfuscative group, the Clinton campaign naturally refused to answer an email regarding this issue.
“Calling the ‘Fight for 15’ minimum wage campaign a modern-day communist ‘Red Army,’ these emails reflect how Clinton and her liberal allies at CAP really feel about the disastrous economic consequences of these policies,” said Jeremy Adler, communications director for the conservative non-profit, America Rising Squared.
As she famously noted, Clinton will say one thing in public and another in private—unfortunately in this case, she’s willing to put millions of family-supporting jobs at risk to help herself politically.
Of course, this is one of the things we have come to expect from the Clinton campaign. One of the hallmarks of her political career can be best summed up by “narcissistic personality disorder.” Clinton is a person with an immense lack of understanding for other people’s feelings.
Like many other narcissists, Clinton will spend a lot of time trying to achieve influence or success, as evidenced early on when she told a classmate that the only way to make a difference is to “acquire power.” A total lack of caring is also evident in these personality types.
Remember when Clinton got off a rapist and then laughed about it? That is the hallmark of this personality type!
So, as you can see, when one of her underlings privately mocked the supporters of her opponent, it is just par for the course for the Clintons. This type of callous behavior is what you can expect if she gets into office.
