“Disrupt the Inauguration. The Majority have spoken – by nearly 2.7 million votes &counting! Silence is not an option.” This was the cry sent out to 3 million Twitter followers by none other than Michael Moore.
Well known and outspoken, Michael Moore has been at the base of a lot of political unrest. Moore is known for his “fiery left-wing populism.” His books, films, documentaries, and articles seek to destroy high level Republicans and Conservative agendas.
Moore has been quite vocal about his hate of Donald Trump. He originally supported Bernie Sanders but reluctantly changed to support Clinton when she was nominated. He then became a very strong advocate for her including releasing “Michael Moore in TrumpLand.” The film was less about bashing Trump and more about supporting Hillary.
Since the election, which he predicted Donald Trump would win, he has taken his verbal assaults on Trump to a new level. Moore noted that he “never wanted to be more wrong,” when he predicted Trump’s election win. He has criticized President Elect Trump’s management so far stating, “It’s like, you’ve got time for that (Tweets), and you haven’t taken one of the national security briefings…”
Now he is engaged in a much more serious discussion with the American public and it could lead to the terror during the upcoming inauguration. His previously mentioned Tweet was just the beginning.
He has begun a website titled, “disruptj20”which offers a look inside his twisted thoughts and how he is planning to disrupt the inauguration on January 20th. The statement on the front page of the site is mild compared to what lies within, “We call on all people of good conscience to join in disrupting the ceremonies.
If Trump is to be inaugurated at all, let it happen behind closed doors, showing the true face of the security state Trump will preside over. It must be made clear to the whole world that the vast majority of people in the United States do not support his presidency or consent to his rule.”
This movement is not one of peaceful protests. The website incites hate against our President Elect. “Trump stands for tyranny, greed, and misogyny. He is the champion of neo-Nazis and white Nationalists, of the police who kill the Black, Brown and poor on a daily basis, of racist border agents and sadistic prison guards, of the FBI and NSA who tap your phone and read your email.
He is the harbinger of even more climate catastrophe, deportation, discrimination, and endless war. The KKK, Vladimir Putin, Golden Dawn, and the Islamic State all cheered his victory. Trump’s success confirms the bankruptcy of representative democracy.”
Moore and liberals claim they do not advocate discrimination and violence. This site is full of subtle and not so subtle language that makes it clear; if you don’t agree with them, get out of the way.
Hidden at the bottom of the website you can find this statement, “#DisruptJ20 does not collaborate with law enforcement.” There is also what amounts to a taunt, @Bikers4Trump check out #disruptj20 it will peak your interest!!” Bikers for Trump are a group that has vowed to help keep the peace during the inauguration.
“#DisruptJ20 will be the start of the resistance. We must take to the streets and protest, blockade, disrupt, intervene, sit in, walk out, rise up, and make more noise and good trouble than the establishment can bear. The parade must be stopped. We must delegitimize Trump and all he represents. It’s time to defend ourselves, our loved ones, and the world that sustains us as if our lives depend on it—because they do” proclaims Moore on his site.
One of the phrases that appear all over the website is “diversity of tactics.” Some may not understand what that is. Others, especially those familiar with protests, comprehend the true meaning behind this. It is a code used for a protest group that is willing to intentionally cross the line of non-violence.
Let’s be clear, when Michael Moore is reaching out to millions using this phrase, he is telling them that he is willing to become violent–and they will listen to him.
This is a definition for the phrase: “Diversity of tactics is a phenomenon wherein a social movement makes periodic use of force for disruptive or defensive purposes, stepping beyond the limits of nonviolence, but also stopping short of total militarization…Diversity of tactics may promote nonviolent tactics, or armed resistance, or a range of methods in between, depending on the level of repression the political movement is facing.”
The website also contains a toolkit for the so-called activists. They are advised to consider the following:
- Training – how we orient and prepare for the plan and risks we are taking, also legal etc.
- Spokes Councils or Tactical Leadership – will it be a small group who will decide and direct or will it be a meeting of representatives of the participating groups or some collaborative process between the two models.
- Legal Strategies and Plan – lawyers, observer, laws, jail solidarity, court plan
- Police Strategies and Set-Up – do we inform them, get permit, how do we build a web of restraint on them?
- Documentation plan – video, cameras, audio, blogging etc.
- Street Medics – got some? Do you know where hospitals are, any relationship with EMT’s or fire department?
- Communications –scouts, bikes, radios, flags, twitter, text mobs?
- Jail Strategies – support outside and inside – Jail Solidarity
- Trauma and Healing – when people are hurt or really afraid.
- Post Action Legal Follow-up – Courts, Diversions, Community Service. Lawsuits
This is terrifying. Legal strategies, police set-ups including a “web of restraint,” and medical care for the injured? Does this sound like a full out riot or a peaceful protests?
Some other disturbing advice on the website included: “Make yourself invisible, act like you fit in, wear clothes that won’t stand out” and “Have a story in case you’re stopped.” This could easily be a page out of a terrorist handbook.
Innocent citizens need to be aware of these plans. Moore and his growing group should be considered dangerous to our President Elect, law enforcement, and any American who doesn’t share their views.
Michael Moore should be charged under the Felony Mob Act for inciting violence. Do you agree?
