After Debbie Wasserman Schultz got dumped as chair of the Democratic National Committee, how many millions of people clicked over to Twitter to see Donald Trump’s reaction?
He didn’t disappoint — and he didn’t limit his comments to the DNC head, either.
After Wikileaks revealed a series of damning internal emails showing the corruption at the heart of the Democratic Party’s nomination process, Wasserman Schultz quickly resigned. As far as Trump’s team are concerned, that should be just the beginning of a top-down purge of the party.
As the Daily Mail reports:
Trump jumped into the fray first tweeting that ‘today proves what I have always known, that Reince Priebus is the tough one and the smart one, not Debbie Wasserman Schultz.’
‘I always said Debbie Wasserman Schultz was overrated,’ Trump continued. ‘The Dems convention is cracking up and Bernie is exhausted, no energy left!’
This morning Trump went on a tangent on Twitter about Sanders being exhausted.
‘He is trying to dismiss the new e-mails and DNC disrespect. SAD!’ Trump tweeted.
‘Even though Bernie Sanders has lost his energy and his strength, I don’t believe that his supporters will let Crooked Hillary off the hook!’ Trump tweeted.
Trump went on to say that the Democrats were “in a total meltdown,” which is definitely not the way a party wants to begin its national convention.
Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort added that Hillary Clinton should also resign. While that’s unlikely to happen, it’s certainly what the media would be calling on Trump to do, had a similar scandal rocked the RNC.
