Dr. Ben Carson not leaving Trump campaign team; just changing roles

You mostly likely are viewing headlines on conservative type websites that Carson is not in charge of the Trump campaign vetting process anymore, and his role is undecided. The vetting role of VP has now been passed to Corey Lewandowski while Dr. Carson has moved on to working with Speaker Paul Ryan ahead of Thursday’s meeting.

“What Trump wanted from Carson were names of who he would recommend for a potential candidate,” said Armstrong Williams, Carson’s business manager. “He was among several other people making recommendations.

“Once those names were submitted, they decided to have Lewandowski head up,” he added, referencing Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign manager.
“It’s passed off to him. That vetting process is a long process and a tedious process. Now Carson is involved in making sure that everything goes well with Thursday’s meeting.”
Reports emerged on Tuesday that Lewandowski will helm Trump’s search for a running mate.

Trump said last week that Carson would also serve on his vice presidential selection committee.
Carson then ruled himself out of contention for the slot, arguing that he would overshadow Trump’s campaign.
Ben Carson continues to impress me. Ben Carson should play a major role in the Trump administration.

Please be careful when reading these websites because they are meant to give misinformation and cause headlines for major clickbait. Carson didn’t want the role of VP in a Trump administration because he didn’t want to overshadow the campaign.
