Former UN Ambassador John Bolton Takes Off The Gloves…Calls Obama ‘A Small Man’ Because…

When it comes to criticizing the Obama administration’s craven approach to foreign policy and fighting terrorism, no conservative is more consistent than former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton.

Back in the first year of Barack Obama’s presidency, Bolton used a New York Times op-ed to accurately predict Obama’s approach to nuclear negotiations would “seriously weaken the United States” (see the Iran deal). Less than two weeks ago, Bolton slammed Obama for his near-apology for the U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

But Bolton’s outrage this week over the way Obama used the Orlando nightclub massacre to attack political opponents hit hard at the president whom Bolton calls a “small man.”

During a nationally televised speech Tuesday, Obama lashed out at Republicans — particularly the party’s presumptive nominee Donald Trump — for demanding Obama use the words “radical Islam” when describing the enemy the country faces.

“There’s no magic to the phrase ‘radical Islam,’” a sneering Obama said dismissively. “It’s a political talking point, not a strategy.”

On Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” Bolton lashed back.

“Snark is not an admirable trait and criticizing your political opponents in a speech to the nation at a time when they want to know what we’re doing to protect ourselves from other attacks is beneath the dignity of the office. He’s never been qualified to be commander in chief,” he said.

Fox News legal analyst Judge Jeanine Pirro joined in.

“If this president had, for one minute, tried to give some empathy to the victims and their families in Orlando, then we would have been cheering him on,” she said. “This president spent more time dealing with the fact that it’s not a religious war, that we can’t paint all Muslims with the same broad brush … The whole thing was an embarrassment.”

It’s doubtful Obama could — or would — do anything at this point that would have conservatives “cheering him on,” but he’s not likely to try any time soon, either.

But Bolton summed it up the best.

“This is a failure of presidential leadership,” said the former diplomat and Yale-educated lawyer. “The country wants to hear from the president what we’re going to do to prevent this from happening. Instead we get a lecture from one of the most narcissistic individuals ever to hold that job about what’s wrong with the rest of us, who don’t have the tolerance he does for people he thinks are being unfairly criticized.

“Instead of talking about the enemies of the United States and what he’s going to do, he talks about his political enemies. I just think that’s unpresidential. I think it shows the president to be a small man. ”

And that, in a nutshell, is the Barack Obama presidency — and its foreign policy. Bolton nailed it seven years ago, and he’s nailing it today.

Conservatives on social media ate it up.
