Leftist billionaire George Soros tried to buy a U.S. Supreme Court ruling favorable to immigration, new records show.
The liberal tycoon’s “Open Society Foundation” orchestrated a massive campaign to influence the Justices to vote favorably in a case regarding Barack Obama’s executive orders on amnesty and immigration.
In a memo released by the notorious DCLeaks and obtained by The Daily Caller, they reveal their strategy. The section of the memo is called “Immigration policy and Syrian refugees: Steps Forward and Back in a Volatile time.”
“The challenges going forward – magnified by harsh anti-immigrant rhetoric in the 2016 presidential campaign and an expected wave of punitive bills at the state level – will be to move beyond reacting to events and regain footing to begin executing a more forward-leaning strategic course,” the memo states. “Grantees are seeking to influence the Justices (primarily via a sophisticated amicus briefs and media strategy) in hopes of securing a favorable ruling in US v. Texas, and using the case to redefine messaging and align the movement. We are also seeking to shore up state and local infrastructure …”
The memo goes on to indicate that some of their “partners” in trying to influence the court are “Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern and South Asian partners.”
There are some pretty interesting folks on the board of this group trying to buy their influence with the nation’s highest court. Washington Post columnist Danielle Allen, several college professors and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism Steve Coll are all on the board.
Soros’ political activity has come under scrutiny after “hacktivist” organization DCLeaks published thousands of internal documents from Soros’ organizations.
According to the organization’s website, OSF’s mission is to “work to build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people.”
But most recently it was revealed that his group funded “opposition research” on critics of radical Islam, seeking to dig up embarrassing information and destroy their personal reputations.
Among other people, Soros planned to “research and track” the activities of David Horowitz, Daniel Pipes, Cliff May and Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
