Here Are The Transcripts Of The Orlando Nightclub Attacker’s Call To 911

On Monday the Federal Bureau of Investigations released a partial transcript of the 911 phone call that Omar Mateen made during his terrorist attack on Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The government has decided to release the transcripts with several shocking omissions.

During the call Mateen pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) and its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and shouted Allahu Akbar several times, but the FBI has decided to scrub all Islamic references from the transcript.

In a statement that accompanied the transcript, the FBI justified the decision:

Out of respect for the victims of this horrific tragedy, law enforcement will not be releasing audio of the shooter’s 911 calls at this time, nor will law enforcement be releasing audio or transcripts of the calls made by victims at the Pulse nightclub during the incident. Furthermore, the name of the shooter and that of the person/group to whom he pledged allegiance are omitted.

Here’s the official transcript as released by the FBI earlier today:
