Actress Susan Sarandon, a hardcore liberal and Bernie Sanders supporter, implied she would vote for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton if those are the choices in November.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Sarandon said, “Some people feel Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately… If he gets in, then things will really explode.”
Hayes asked if that was a dangerous line of thinking, but Sarandon said it was time for a serious shake up to the status quo.
“If you think that it’s pragmatic to shore up the status quo right now, then you’re not in touch with the status quo,” she said.
Sarandon cited Clinton’s donations from supporters on fracking and inaction on raising the minimum wage as two issues that show she is part of an establishment that needed to be upended. Based on these statements, she believes a Trump presidency would escalate dissatisfaction in America and lead to revolution.
