As president of the United States, Barack Obama has to make every moment of his day count. A terrorist bomb went off in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City a couple days ago, so would you like to guess what was occupying President Obama’s time the most?
If you guessed that President Obama visited the New York area to exhibit leadership regarding the latest terrorist bombing, then you would be wrong; but if you said he was there to campaign for Hillary Clinton, then you would be correct, per NYPost.com.
The president’s motorcade passed through 23rd street, and he even slept in Manhattan Sunday night, but he has yet to make any remarks regarding the bombing.
“This should not be a close election, but it will be,” Obama said in regard to the race between Clinton and Donald Trump. “And the reason it will be is not because of Hillary’s flaws, but rather because, structurally, we’ve become a very polarized society. And if all you’re doing is reading some of the blogs that are churning out a lot of misinformation on a regular basis, then it’s very hard for you to think that you’re going to vote for somebody who you’ve been told is taking the country in the wrong direction.”
Well, Mr. President, we are very proud to be one of those blogs, and this little instance is indeed a microcosm of what is wrong with the current political system in America.
If you are looking for a neon billboard sign of why you should support Donald Trump instead of Hillary, this would be it.
For the past year, there has only been one person who has really exhibited the needed leadership when a terrorist attack or a natural disaster occurs. One example of this would be the recent record flooding in Louisiana. Donald Trump was there first, Obama showed up after his golf game, and Hillary Clinton must have been sick or something because she didn’t show up at all.
And now the president is so busy campaigning for Hillary Clinton that he doesn’t even take time to make a 30 second sound bite about the bombing in the same area he is visiting!
The key word here is, of course, desensitization. By following the president and Hillary Clinton’s lead, we will eventually just accept this as part of life and more people will die as a result.
As Donald Trump has repeatedly shown, he is not going to accept that. No, the man is not superman, but there is no question he will literally save lives if he is elected president of the United States.
