I can hear the aging, Democratic voice now, “Stop reporting on terror. Get off my lawn!” John Kerry has just single-handedly said what I would consider as the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
Secretary of State John Kerry must be living in a fantasy land. He routinely says things that border on the asinine. This time, he’s going after the media. Shockingly, he didn’t specifically go after Republicans. No, this was a blanket statement, though I’m certain it’s targeting the conservative media.
John Kerry just said that we should stop reporting on terror and his reasoning is borderline insane.
During his first official visit to Bangladesh, Secretary of State John Kerry held a press conference and addressed the threat of terrorism.
Kerry offered a novel way to combat terrorism, suggesting that the media would “do us all a service” if they didn’t cover it “quite as much.”
“No country is immune from terrorism,” Kerry said at a press availability in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Monday. “It’s easy to terrorize. Government and law enforcement have to be correct 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But if you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on.”
But of course, America responded in kind. And when I say in kind, I mean BRUTALLY slamming him for being an idiot.
Here’s the response from John Bolton, former US Ambassador to the United Nations:
“If you really think that less publicity would help reduce the terrorist threat, then really after you should apply for a job after you are secretary of state to be editor-in-chief of “The Onion”
AWESOME! It didn’t stop there either. Here’s some reactions from the public.
John Kerry suggests the media no longer report terror attacks. Great idea. Saves Obama from having to call them something else.

So we should just stop reminding the country that it’s dangerous world? We should let you guys run the news cycle in it’s entirety? We should lay down our pens, paper, and keyboards and just let a calming bubble wash over the country to the point where there is nothing but happy thoughts, puppies, and cotton candy? Get real, John. That’s not how the world works and that’s not what the real world is like.
Thankfully, America sees right through your bulls**t.
