If Hillary Clinton was hoping to capture the key battleground state of Georgia, she has another thing coming. A new poll shows her behind in the state by four points to presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, that is within the margin of error. However, other poll results showed that Clinton had a major uphill battle ahead of her if she hoped to win the Peach State.
Along with the 41 percent poll number was the fact that two-thirds of Georgians had a negative view of Clinton, greater than the number that viewed Trump unfavorably. In addition, over half of Clinton voters said they’re only supporting her because they don’t like Trump.
It didn’t take long for Trump to trumpet this polling news on Facebook.
“Thank you for your support GEORGIA!” Trump wrote on his official Facebook account. “I can’t wait to see you soon. Crooked Hillary Clinton does not have a chance in November! I am in this to win it. We will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Trump’s supporters were equally enthusiastic.
Marie Moosbrugger wrote, “We DO NOT care about his past or his tax returns. We do care about the future of the U.S.A. and the Republican Party unifying and getting on board with Donald J. Trump. Let’s do this voters, we need change in our leadership and we need it now, keep Hillary out of the White House!”
While this was just a poll for the state of Georgia, this poll represented a wider problem for Hillary Clinton. Most people view her unfavorably. Even many of those who are voting for her are doing so because they don’t like Trump.
The difference is that Trump has shown the ability to win over voters who previously disliked him, whereas Hillary Clinton’s unfavorable numbers have remained constant.
If this keeps up, it’s going to be a long time until November for the Democrat nominee. Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you think that’s a very good thing.
