Film mogul Harvey Weinstein had a star-studded fundraiser for Hillary Clinton at his home Monday night. The dinner, which cost $33,000 per plate, included the likes of Leo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Martha Stewart, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.
The fundraiser had very strict rules about no photographs or social media posts. It was emphasized more than once to everybody that they needed to comply with these requests.
But Martha Stewart apparently plays by her own rules because she either didn’t pay attention to, or care about, this decree.
A source told the New York Post’s Page Six, “Martha was the only one who didn’t. It was like, ‘No rules for Martha!’ She was up in Hillary’s face — not only with an iPhone, but with like a Canon camera.”
This is the second time in the past year Stewart has made headlines. Last summer, the ultra-successful home decor icon and insider-trading felon participated in Comedy Central’s roast of pop star Justin Bieber. Stewart, who appeared that night with celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Shaquile O’Neal and comedians Jeff Ross, Natasha Leggero and Hannibal Burress, stunned the crowd with her wit and got some of the night’s biggest laughs.
Other notable guests at the Clinton fundraiser event were fashion designers Vera Wang and Tory Burch, jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, “Real Housewife” Bethenny Frankel and actress Candice Bergen.
While Stewart took numerous photos, none of them have made it to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook just yet. At the moment, the home decorating queen has reserved those spaces for colorful farm-market veggies and the 10th anniversary of her Martha Stewart Collection at Macy’s.
