Obama Tells Turkey to Seal Syrian Border, Turkey Tells Obama To Handle Mexico First

The Turkish border is an open gateway for Islamic State (ISIS) fighters to pour through in order to continue growing the numbers of the Islamic terror organization in Syria and Iran.

Up to now, Obama has been dismissive of ISIS, calling them a JV team and allowing only occasional bombing raids against them in order to provide the pretense that he is anxiously engaged in stamping out this world threat.

Many believe that Obama is covertly rooting for and propping up ISIS as a way to depose Bashar al Assad, leader of Syria, rather than to become more involved militarily in that effort.

But with the suicide bombings and murders carried out by ISIS suicide bombers a couple of weeks ago, coupled with the embarrassing actions of Russia that showed a commitment to destroy ISIS and the military wherewithal to do just that, Obama is finally waking up to the fact that his narrative is becoming irrelevant regarding the terrorist organization.

Now he is taking action, and by that I mean that he is talking tough, which is about as committed as he gets in defending the U.S. citizenry.

Obama recommendation to Turkey

Obama is now recommending that Turkey must close the 550 mile border that it shares with Syria and Turkey in order to stop the flow of fighters heeding the call of Jihad.

And although the recommendation is a good one that should have been made much sooner, the irony of Obama making this suggestion while the American people are facing an immigration crisis of their own cannot be lost.

The American border to the west that aligns with Mexico is at least as porous as the one Obama is complaining about.

“The game has changed. Enough is enough. The border needs to be sealed,” an Obama administration official told The Wall Street Journal. “This is an international threat, and it’s all coming out of Syria and it’s coming through Turkish territory.”

Apparently, the Obama administration is convinced that strong borders work, at least in some cases, estimating that about 30,000 troops are needed to block ISIS movements.

Turkish officials confirmed that removing ISIS from the border is a chief concern, but added Turkey doesn’t need patronizing reminders.

“Turkey is determined to clean Daesh from the 98 kilometers of border between Kilis and Jarabulus,” a senior Turkish government official told The Wall Street Journal. “There is no need to receive any kind of warning or advice from anyone, including our U.S. partners.”

Given that everything Obama does and says is political, one should not assume he is making this recommendation because he is interested in protecting U.S. citizens, rather optics are the thing. He needs to look like he is supporting the war against ISIS by encouraging border closures in Turkey, all the while rooting for ISIS to survive.

At the same time, he is adamant about not closing our own borders, and in fact has made sure that illegals coming across our southern boundary are welcomed and subsidized. And though this also could be said to be an economic war on the U.S. tax payer, there will be no border closings on the U.S. Southern border, and no prosecution of those who have broken the law. The hypocrisy is both stunning and never ending.
