Obviously, the world is still scrambling to put together the story of what happened in Dallas. Facts are still nebulous, and details scare, but we now have at least a preliminary motive for last night’s attack. According to Dallas police chief David Brown, it was exactly what everyone assumes it was:
“The suspect said he was upset about Black Lives Matter. He said he was upset about the recent police shootings. The suspect said he was upset at white people. The suspect said he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers. The suspect stated that we will eventually find the IEDs.”
“The suspect stated that he was not affiliated with any groups and he stated that he did this alone.”
“The suspect said other things that are part of this investigation, so that we can make sure that everyone associated with this tragedy is brought to justice.”
That’s hardly surprising, since the American left has spent the last decade dividing people, exploiting race, goading law enforcement, and desperately trying to sell the narrative that the police are some kind of monolithic racist force. However, if you thought there was any chance that they’d examine what their agenda has wrought, you were really kidding yourself. As usual, their response is an infantile chant of: “guns are bad.”
As Obama put it, we’re all horrified about the attacks, but…
“We also know when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately, it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic. In the days ahead, we will have to consider those realities as well.”
In other words “This attack will be used to help my party’s antiquated – and failing – quest for gun control.”
This is pretty much the same response he offered following the Orlando terrorist attack:
“Those who were killed and injured here were gunned down by a single killer with a powerful assault weapon. The motives of this killer may have been different than the mass shooters in Aurora or Newtown, but the instruments of death were so similar.”
“Those who defend the easy accessibility of assault weapons should meet these families and explain why that makes sense. They should meet with the Newtown families — some of whom Joe saw yesterday — whose children would now be finishing fifth grade — on why it is that we think our liberty requires these repeated tragedies. That’s not the meaning of liberty.”
In both cases, the left – ghoulish as always – sees an opportunity to further an agenda that’s been front and center since Franklin Delano Roosevelt was in office.
In both cases, the President’s instinct is to downplay the motive and instead pretend that gun bans (because despite what he says, that’s what he really wants) will somehow solve our problems.
In both cases, Obama simply couldn’t wait to take advantage of the situation to push his agenda.
Remember, he never lets a good crisis “go to waste.”
