Roger Stone: What Ted Cruz Really Thinks About the American Worker

“Cruz is a clever snake oil salesman”

Despite the old guard and amateur pundits blaming Donald Trump and the majority of GOP voters who support him, much of the rift in the Republican Party has been caused by Texas Senator Ted Cruz conning nationalists into believing he is one of them. Republican voters, many of whom have supported the GOP for decades and been repeatedly taken for granted by the establishment, deserve better. They need to know that Cruz is an establishment globalist who has already sold the American worker down the river by voting for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Cruz is a clever snake oil salesman. He’s a Harvard guy with ties to Wall Street and secret loans from Goldman Sachs and backing from the Bushes, who managed to ride the Tea Party wave into office and trick people into thinking he’s a principled small-government conservative. His campaign accounts are bulging with oil and gas money. And like the Bushes, he wants to kill the American economy with global trade deals that benefit our competitors and erode American sovereignty.

House Bill #2146 became the Trojan horse for passing Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal more than a year ago. HR2146 was originally introduced in the House to remedy problems with law enforcement and firefighter retirement funds.

In April of 2015, Senator Ted Cruz and House Ways and Means Chair Paul Ryan supported TPA being added to HR2146. In fact, they penned an op-ed in the in the Wall Street Journal on April 22, 2015, which painted a picture of it as the savior of American labor and commerce.

On June 4th 2015 the Senate passed the House bill with an amendment adding TPA (thanks to Ted Cruz) and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA, needed for Elizabeth Warren coalition) by unanimous consent thereby avoiding a roll vote on record. This has allowed Cruz to pretend he didn’t support it, until now.

On June 18, 2015, the House accepted the TPA change championed by Paul Ryan. It also removed TAA (the financial assistance package for training of union workers), which greatly upset Nancy Pelosi. But the White House was much more concerned with TPA and TPP, so Pelosi did what she was told and went along.

Without TAA, HR2146 passed again in the House and bounced back to the Senate — where TAA was removed. OnJune 24, HR2146 (TPA without TAA) then passed the Senate. Tricky Ted didn’t pull one of his famous Green Eggs and Ham filibuster attention stunts because this was the plan from the beginning. President Obama happily signed it into law, another victory for the bipartisan globalist money machine. It allows even more lax immigration rules and subjects our country to the rulings of international tribunals, the last of whose interests is American prosperity.

Cruz’s contempt for American sovereignty doesn’t surprise anyone who read the report generated by Heidi Cruz and the other members of the Council on Foreign Relations, recommending the creation of a North American Union to further erase our borders. Bringing these facts to light isn’t spouse bashing or hitting below the belt; these are terrifying facts that every voter needs to see.

Tricky Ted’s sneaky support of TPP put the people and the Congress at the mercy of the next president, who can decide which countries get the benefit of TPP. If it’s anyone other than Donald Trump, American workers will continue to lose their jobs.
