Sheriff Joe Announces New Patriotic “Decoration” to Chain Gangs’ Uniforms… Illegals FURIOUS

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, is one of the more controversial figures in American law enforcement. He has very unorthodox ways of housing and treating prisoners that often have conservatives cheering and liberals fuming.

The Washington Examiner reported that Sheriff Joe has decided that he wanted to instill a sense of patriotism in his inmates and has decreed that starting Tuesday — Flag Day — American flags will be affixed to the inmates’ uniforms, starting with the male chain gangs.

“When our flag is lifted up, we too feel we can rise above our circumstances,” Arpaio explained. “My hope is that incarcerated inmates begin to get a sense of honor when wearing the flag.”

This is sure to annoy illegal immigrants who might be housed in Sheriff Joe’s prison. However it is a great idea that is relatively cheap to implement and could produce positive results.

Sheriff Joe takes his patriotism very seriously, and it shows around the prison. There are American flags in the jail cells, and the inmates listen to the national anthem every morning.

“Each day inmates listen to ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ and ‘God Bless America’ on the public address system, a practice Arpaio began 10 years ago. For the same number of years, under the sheriff’s direction, American flags have been attached in each jail cell,” read a statement from the sheriff’s department.

“Sheriff Arpaio instructed that inmates found defacing the flags to be placed on bread and water, as a form of discouragement,” it added.

This new action by Sheriff Joe is a bold step toward reforming prisoners that is sure to have liberals up in arms. However, we support Sheriff Joe. He has never been afraid to stand up to the liberal PC police before, and he sure isn’t going to start now.
