The odds of presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump choosing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich as his vice presidential candidate dropped somewhat this Sunday when Gingrich admitted that the billionaire candidate had yet to even contact him.
“Nobody has called me,” he said while speaking on “Fox News Sunday.” “Nobody has said, ‘Would you like to be?’ Nobody has said, ‘Would you be willing to be considered?’ Nobody has said anything.”
Those betting in favor of Gingrich being the VP need not lose all hope yet, however, as the former House speaker shared his belief that Trump will in his usual fashion wait until the very last minute to make his decision.
“He’s probably going to start thinking about it two days before Cleveland,” Gingrich quipped.
