Soap Opera Star Antonio Sabato Jr.: ‘Donald Trump Will Be Our Next President’

Longtime actor and fashion model, Antonio Sabato Jr., appeared on MSNBC Monday to explain why he’s supporting presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s White House run.

Sabato Jr., who was born in Rome, Italy, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1996, says Donald Trump is “going to be the leader of this country” because he’s willing to take a tough stance on issues like immigration and border enforcement.

“He’s got a point in everything,” Sabato Jr. said, adding that Trump is “talking about illegal aliens coming here illegally.”

“I came here legally here to the United States from Italy, and I’m legal,” he said to MSNBC anchor Frances Rivera, who said that Trump has said things that have “offended a whole lot of people.”

“I’m an American citizen,” the 44-year-old The Bold and the Beautiful star said. “Everybody is walking over the border, or crawling, or coming illegally, and it’s an illegal issue. So we have to send them back home.”

Sabato Jr. spent much of the early 90s landing roles on hits shows, including the soap operas General Hospital and Melrose Place.

“We need a wall,” Sabato Jr. said. “Do you have a wall at your house? I do, and I personally wouldn’t want it open for everybody to come in. This country needs protection. In some parts, there’s nothing there at all and everybody just walking in.”

Last month, the Calvin Klein model slammed celebrities who said they’d flee the country if Donald Trump was elected president.

“Go to Canada, and go wherever you want to go,” he told Fox Business. “I just want to tell them if you go, stay there for a little bit so we can run our country the way it should be run and we will see you in about 8 years because if Donald Trump becomes president, the next 8 years are his.”

Donald Trump is “talking about illegal aliens, and he’s not talking about all the Latinos,” Sabato Jr. said. “He’s talking about people who are coming here and committing a lot of crimes.”

Asked if he has “sympathy” for “families that have to be broken up,” Sabato Jr. said, “of course I have sympathy.”

“But we have laws in this country,” he added. “If you’re doing something illegally, you got to pay your price. There’s a lot of people in line who have been waiting so many years to come here legally.”

Sabato Jr. says he has “a lot of support” from his fanbase.

“At the end of the day, I’m doing this because I believe — my family believes — that he will be the next president of the United States of America.” Sabato Jr. said. And I can’t wait to see him in January, in the White House.”
