Tapper Asks Hillary to ‘Condemn’ Violent Protesters, But She Turns It Into an Attack on Trump

During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Friday, Hillary Clinton flat-out blamed suggested that Donald Trump was partially to blame for the violence by anti-Trump protesters at his campaign events.

The interview came on the heels of Thursday’s violent protest in San Jose, California. Tapper asked a simple question:

“Do you condemn the violence? What is your message to people who are protesting Donald Trump?”

But Hillary’s “message” was less to the protesters — and more to Trump:

“I condemn all violence in our political arena. I condemned it when Donald Trump was inciting it and congratulating people who were engaging in it. I condemn it by those who are taking violent protests to physical assault against Donald Trump. This has to end.

He set a very bad example. created an environment in which it seemed to be acceptable for someone running for president to be inciting violence, to be encouraging his supporters. Now, we’re seeing people who were against him responding in kind. It should all stop. It is not acceptable.”

She added that Trump had “lowered the bar” and it should be no surprise that people opposed to him are stepping over it.
