A Tennessee teen has gone viral after his efforts to secure food for his family caught the attention of a social media user who made sure America knew just what this young man was doing.
According to WXIN-TV, 16-year-old Chauncy Jones Black approached Matt White inside a Kroger in Memphis and asked him if he could carry his bags in exchange for a bit of food — specifically, glazed donuts that White was carrying.
“This kid looked like he had been turned down 100 times,” White wrote in a June 9 post to Facebook. “He looked ashamed, hungry and broken. In my heart I screamed a loud ‘yes!’, but to him I just chuckled and said, ‘Yeah dude, we’ll get you some donuts.’”
