Tom Hanks: ‘America’s going to be fine’ if Trump is nominated

Actor Tom Hanks says he thinks America will be “fine” if Donald Trump becomes president.

“Look, America’s going to be fine,” he said Thursday during an interview on “CBS This Morning.”

“We’re the greatest, most resilient nation in the history of, of civilized, in all of civilization. We’ve worked ourselves out of holes many, many times over and over again.”

Hanks said he can’t predict whether the GOP front-runner will be president.

“I have no powers of clairvoyance like you geniuses in the news media,” he said. “I’m not saying he’s going to be president of the United States.”

But Hanks said he expects the months leading into the general election to be entertaining.

“What I’m saying is we are going to have the most hilarious September, October and first week of November in a very long time,” he said.

“And you people are going to be exhausted.”
