On today’s episode of “Can The Government Actually DO That?!” a 77-year-old vet is facing down a 15-year sentence for having a legally constructed pond on his own property.
Joe Robinson is going to be sentenced on August 20th for owning a pond used to fight fires. He recently did an interview with Gavin Seim about the issue and what he has to say should absolutely terrify every American. Even those of us who follow the law to the letter aren’t safe.
Watch his interview below:
Robinson went through all of the correct legal channels to obtain the necessary permits to build the pond on his ranch. After he made the mistake of complaining about the EPA’s lack of proper action against the man caught stealing from him, he caught them on his property draining his pond. He now faces a massive fine and a sentence that may very well mean that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The federal government should absolutely NOT have this much power. We all need to pitch in and shame the government into setting this man free. No fines, no prison, and in fact, a large amount of monetary compensation is in order.
It would be one thing if he didn’t get the permits (which is another conversation for another day), but he did everything right and is still in trouble.
If this isn’t the best case for shrinking the size of our government back to something that can barely be seen, I don’t know what is.
Please call the number below and tell them to let Joe go. Nobody deserves to be treated like this.
