President Barack Obama has come up short many times over the past eight years, and his speech at the memorial in Dallas for the five murdered police officers on Tuesday was no exception. Obama predictably used the memorial to push his political agenda, and there was one group of people there that were visibly unimpressed — the police officers in attendance.
When Obama said, “we cannot simply turn away and dismiss those in peaceful protest as troublemakers or paranoid,” it was clearly a reference to the Black Lives Matter movement protesters, and many officers in attendance refused to clap in response.
While some officers did clap as you can see in the clip, many refused to, as did many others in the audience — undoubtedly echoing the feeling of many across the nation as Obama chose to use the deaths of five police officers to further his political agenda:
