Hillary Clinton recently backed out of a June 7th debate against her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders. A spokeswomen for the former Secretary of State said the campaign is now focused on Defeating Donald Trump in the general election. Donald Trump, however, seems eager to go head to head with the Vermont Senator, making his willingness known during Wednesday’s interview on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“Hillary Clinton backed out of an agreement to debate me in California before the June 7 primary. Are you prepared to debate the major issues facing our largest state and the country before the California primary, yes or no?” Kimmel asked Trump, the question reportedly sent in by Sanders
“Yes, I am,” Trump responded. “How much is he going to pay me?”
“You would do it for a price? What would the price be?” Kimmel asked.
The New York billionaire didn’t name a specific dollar amount, but said he’d “take that money and give it some worthy charity.”
Senator Sanders quickly accepted Trump’s offer. The Vermont Socialist took to Twitter, saying:
Game on. I look forward to debating Donald Trump in California before the June 7 primary.
