President Barack Obama officially threw his support behind presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, declaring in a video posted on Twitter the she is “the kind of person who I could trust in my administration.”
The video appeared just hours after the FBI announced it would not be recommending criminal charges against the former secretary of state over her use of private email servers even though she was “extremely careless” in handling classified information. The video begins with Obama saying that Clinton impressed him not only during her 2008 bid for president but also following her loss in the Democratic primary.
Obama said in the video that she behaved like a “trooper,” joining herself with the Obama campaign almost immediately and working tirelessly to “serve the larger cause” and the country.
