Julian Assange’s gradual October Surprise is turning out to be a death by a thousand paper cuts for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Hillary’s handlers have just been caught disparaging yet another large segment of American society, but the mainstream media are helping her keep the shocking revelations under wraps.
“Catholicism is a bastardization of the faith,” read an email conversation among Hillary Clinton’s top aids. “They must be attracted to the systemic thought and severely backward gender relations.”

The leaked emails were chains between Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, and her communication director, Jennifer Palmieri, a former Barack Obama staffer. John Halpin, a representative from the Center for American Progress, was also included in the same strand of emails.
John Halpin made the derogatory comments about the Catholic church. He continued his anti-religious rant by criticizing Rupert Murdoch and Robert Thomson for raising their children in the faith.
Evangelicals were also targeted for nasty insults by the Hillary Clinton campaign. “I imagine they think it the most socially acceptable, politically conservative religion—their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals,” Palmieri said in response to the emails.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins pointed out that these same Hillary Clinton insiders are part of the group who likely nodded their heads emphatically in agreement to Hillary’s “basket of deplorables” remark. “They believe that people who actually want to live by their faith are backwater people. [They see religion as a] glorified social club—if you want to…live your life according to [Scripture], you’re going to run into trouble with Hillary Clinton,” Perkins added.
The Catholic League has already responded publicly to the shocking emails. A statement from the group said it “makes one wonder what else Clinton’s chiefs…are saying about Catholics and Catholicism.”
Conservative stalwart Karl Rove believes the insults to Catholics and evangelicals by the top staffers in the Clinton campaign amount to “thinly-veiled bigotry.” Rove also urged Trump to “whack” away at the information in the newest WikiLeaks email dump instead of Paul Ryan in the coming days.
According to a recent Atlantic poll, Hillary Clinton holds a slight majority over Donald Trump among Catholic voters. Her 55 to 34 margin lead will likely change drastically now.
What do you think about the leaked emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign about Catholics and evangelicals? Do you think she will lose support among Christians over the comments?
