While Donald Trump and Fox News host Megyn Kelly appear to have buried the hatchet, another celebrity with whom he has publicly feuded doesn’t appear eager to mend fences.
Comedian Rosie O’Donnell went on a crude, profanity-laced rant against the Republican presidential candidate Wednesday night.
O’Donnell, speaking to the crowd before a Boy George and Cyndi Lauper concert in New York City, said that she was “depressed because I f—ing hate that orange piece of sh–.”
The 54-year-old added, “I would rather give birth to a flaming iguana while taking a sh–. I hate him. I hate him.”
After an audience member shouted a reference to radio host Howard Stern, O’Donnell said, “He is friends with the sh– stain, which worries me.” She then called Trump a “sh– stain with a tinge of orange.”
“Too much, too negative?” the comedian asked the crowd, to which some yelled back, “No,” but others were not pleased.
The Daily Mail reports that the man who shot the video and passed it on to the news outlet heard and observed people around him reacting negatively to O’Donnell’s rant.
(Warning: Video contains profanity.)
“Rosie’s routine was just jaw-dropping,” the concert-goer said. “She sounds like she is obsessed with Donald Trump and it was what she spent most of her very short act talking about.”
“Not everyone was impressed,” he added. “People around me were shaking their heads in disagreement.”
“One man near me turned to his wife turned and said, ‘I really hope Donald gets elected so she keeps her promise and moves to Canada.’ Another lady was shouting, ‘Get off and let Cyndi sing.’”
CNN reports that the feud between Trump and O’Donnell dates back to 2006, when she criticized him on ABC’s The View for giving Miss USA Tara Conner an opportunity to redeem herself after revelations of drug use, underage drinking and sexual activities. “I’ve always been a believer in second chances. Tara is a good person. Tara has tried hard. Tara is going to be given a second chance,” he said. Conner went into rehab and kept her crown.
O’Donnell described Trump as a “snake-oil salesman.” “This is not a self-made man,” the host charged, saying that he has gone bankrupt. Further, he lacks the “moral compass” to be commenting one way or the other about Conner,” O’Donnell said. “Sit and spin, my friend,” she said.
The businessman shot back, telling People that O’Donnell is a “real loser” and “a woman out of control.”
The barbs continued back and forth for the next several years, which then became the subject, in part, of a question Kelly asked at the first Republican presidential debate last August.
Her query began: “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs’ and ‘disgusting animals.’” Only Rosie O’Donnell,” Trump interjected, which ranked as one of the top laugh lines of the evening among the audience.
So far, it does not appear that Trump plans to fire back at O’Donnell’s latest salvo.
