London’s new Mayor Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim to hold the position, has been openly critical of GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump’s call for a temporary moratorium on Muslims entering the United States. Khan has called Trump “ignorant” and has said that if Trump is elected president he will make both the U.S. and Britain “less safe.”
“I hope Donald Trump loses the election,” Khan said in a recent interview. “My message to Donald Trump and his team is ‘your views of Islam are ignorant.'”
In a recent interview on the BBC, Donald Trump responded to Khan’s attacks.
“Let’s take an IQ test,” Trump smirked, responding to Khan’s charge of ignorance.
“I think they’re very rude statements, and frankly, tell him I will remember those statements — they’re very nasty statements,” Trump added.
“When he won, I wished him well. Now I don’t care about him. I mean, it doesn’t make any difference to me about him.” “Let’s see how he does; let’s see if he’s a good mayor.”
