Donald Trump used humor to prove he never backs down from a challenge and helped out a worthy charity at the same time. There should now be no more questioning of whether or not his hair is real!
The blast from the past video has recently made a resurgence online and gone viral once again. Donald Trump took the Ice Bucket Challenged in June, 2014.
Both Miss Universe and Miss USA appeared to be overjoyed at having a bit of philanthropic fun with the then pageant owner. Donald Trump has quietly engaged in charitable contributions and given to individuals in need over the course of his successful career.
Trump was one of tens of thousands of Americans who agreed to be soaked in ice cold water to help raise funds for ALS research and patients. Here’s what Donald Trump had to say right before getting doused in the frigid water:
“I’ve been called out by everybody for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge—Homer Simpson, Mike Tyson, Vince McMahon—like everybody is going crazy over this thing. I guess they wanna see if whether or not this is my real hair, which it is. So, here’s what I’m gonna do… Miss Universe and Miss USA, I own it, so they’re here and they’re really gonna do a number on me. I’m challenging President Obama, my son Donald, my son Eric. Let’s go ladies.”
Barack Obama had already been tagged to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge before Donald Trump made his video. The liberal, unlike the now GOP presidential candidate, was apparently not up to the task.
Ethel Kennedy, the oldest living member of the Democrat political family, called on Barack Obama to take the Ice Bucket Challenge. POTUS politely declined her public request.
“The president appreciates Mrs. Kennedy thinking of him for the challenge,” the White House said in a statement. “The president will be making a donation to an ALS charity this week.”
The Ice Bucket Challenge raised, in all, $100 million for Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes muscle weakness, paralysis, and, in the final stages, respiratory failure.
Thank you for being a good sport, Donald Trump. America has eagerly been waiting for a strong, kind, and fearless leader like you!
