If you do not want to be shot by a police officer, do what the person wearing the badge says. It’s just that simple, folks. Even if a police officer wrongly detains or arrests you, immediately comply, live, and sue the department later. Your fate is in your own hands—choosing to respond with compliance will prevent blood being spilled in the street. This new video of the Terence Crutcher shooting unfortunately speaks to that all too well.
Terrence Crutcher was not shot and killed by Tulsa, Oklahoma police officers because they were raging racists. He was riddled with bullet holes because he would not follow their commands and continued to try to reach into or get in his car.
Crutcher, 40, was only shot by the Oklahoma police officers after he repeatedly refused to stop moving and put his hands in the air.
Contrary to what the anti-police Black Lives Matter activists want the public to believe, the Tulsa, OK police officers only resorted to lethal force AFTER they used a taser gun that did not stop Terrence Crutcher.
The Oklahoma police officers encountered Crutcher when they stopped to check on an SUV, which appeared to be stalled or have some type of car trouble in the middle of 36th Street North in Tulsa.
An individual who called 911 after stopping to see if Crutcher, an ex-convict, needed help said the man “might have been smoking” something and was basically talking nonsense during their encounter.
“As they approached the vehicle, a black male started towards them,” TPD Officer Jeanne Mackenzie told the media. “They asked him to show his hands. He refused to follow commands given by the officers. They continued to talk to him. He continued not to listen, not follow any commands as they got closer to the vehicle. He reached inside the vehicle and at that time there was a taser deployment and then a short time later there was one shot fired.”
It has been roundly speculated that Terrence Crutcher might have been on some type of drug, possibly PCP, at the time of the incident—a fact that further placed the lives of the officers and the public in jeopardy.
All of the police officers involved in the Oklahoma fatal shooting have been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Quite frankly, this is a shooting that never should have happened.
Had he simply listened to what the officers told him to do, he would be at the very least alive and in a jail cell right now. A far better outcome than being laid out on a slab at the coroner’s office.
