This was a monumental election, just not what Hillary was expecting. Instead of an epic win, she is taking record losses on many fronts.
Hillary Clinton not only lost the Electoral College, but she also lost in other ways. Despite an intense letter-writing campaign to convince electors to defect from Trump, only two defected from him and five actually changed their votes from Clinton to a different candidate, as per NPR.
Despite this concerted effort from liberals to try to make Hillary Clinton president in any way possible, Trump ended up receiving 304 electoral votes, with the two electoral votes he lost coming from the predominantly Republican state of Texas.
Four electors defected from Clinton in Washington state. Three of them decided to go with Colin Powell, and one elector cast a vote for Faith Spotted Eagle, an individual who has gained some notoriety for her protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline.
A Hawaii elector was able to successfully cast a ballot for Bernie Sanders instead of Hillary Clinton. Many other Democrat electors tried to vote for Sanders, but they were bound by party rules and were dismissed and replaced.
The funny thing about this is the fact that Hillary Clinton, having lost this many electors during the vote of the Electoral College, she not only lost more electors than Trump, but she lost more electors than any candidate in the last 100 years, as per the Gateway Pundit. That’s another record under her belt!
Republican electors in Pennsylvania were met with protests and were told to “vote their conscience” even though many of them were perfectly fine voting for Donald Trump.
“My fellow electors,” Robert Gleason said while protesters were chanting outside, “let us always remember this shared moment when we stood up for our constitutional system, followed our conscience, answered the call of Pennsylvania voters, and did our part by electing the next president and vice president of the United States, Donald Trump and Mike Pence.”
The next two steps in the process are just a mere formality. The states submit a “certificate of vote” to the Federal Register, and then the House of Representatives formally tallies the vote on January 6th and makes the election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th U.S. president official.
Considering that roughly 97 percent of the electors did the job they were supposed to do, the efforts of liberals to undermine our country proved to be a waste of time. There is only one thing to realize in the midst of all of this:
How do you suppose the liberals would have reacted had it been the other way around, and it was conservatives who were trying to harass the electors into defecting and making Trump the president over Hillary? We both know these liberals would be pitching a fit and calling us all fascists.
Of course, even as vile a person as Hillary is, conservatives would have never engaged in this hypothetical scenario namely because they respect the rule of law. So, this essentially just made liberals look very, very bad.
It will probably take years for them to recover. Luckily, this will give us plenty of time to get this country back on track.
