WOW: Newt Gingrich Has A GENIUS Idea For Trump! His FIRST Act As President Should Be…

If and when Donald Trump takes the White House, there will be many things he’ll need to address. Clearly our country has been mismanaged after years of government overreach, abuse, and downright corruption.

While he’s made it clear that the main areas he’ll address are the economy, terrorism, and immigration, there is so much within government that must be fixed.

From bloated government spending to abuse of power, the federal government has been overstepping its boundaries against the liberties of its citizens for decades. A pragmatic, no-nonsense leader like Trump can make great strides in bringing an end to this pattern.

One of his closest supporters, perhaps a future cabinet member, Newt Gingrich, recently suggested one key area President Trump can fix.

From Huffington Post:

Gingrich told Osnos that he’s encouraged Trump to start a war over job security for federal employees. Conservatives have long bemoaned how difficult it can be to fire government workers. According to The New Yorker, Gingrich seems convinced that attacking job protections for civil servants would be a worthwhile opening battle, both as policy and as politics. Per Osnos:

“Getting permission to fire corrupt, incompetent, and dishonest workers—that’s the absolute showdown,” Gingrich said. He assumes that federal employees’ unions would resist, thus producing, in his words, an “ongoing war” similar to the conflict that engulfed Madison, Wisconsin, in 2011, when Governor Scott Walker moved to limit public-sector employees’ collective-bargaining rights.

As a former government contractor, I personally saw how loose government employees can behave. White collared workers, in comfortable jobs, actually form labor unions that provide virtual immunity and job security.

Even if an employee behaves in an unacceptable manner.

From lax dress codes to (this is true) employees sleeping at their desks every day, government employees enjoy unprecedented levels of job security. They rarely suffer penalties from gross misdemeanors (such as abusive emails or shouting matches in the office), because they are protected by their unions.

But I’m guessing a long-time businessman like Trump, who’s gotten the best out of labor unions before, can bring an end to this shameful environment.

Even HuffPo has to admit the over-the-top protections government workers enjoy: Typically, a fraction of a percent of the federal workforce gets fired each year.

A manager just can’t fire a government employee. They have to go through “due process” a long and aggravating system, before they can prove an employee’s unworthiness. By then so much time has been wasted, the department would just rather go back to work. This kind of bureaucracy protects bad employees, whose bosses more likely transfer them rather than fire.

This needs to end.

Of course liberals are already calling foul, claiming this will give Trump the power to fire political rivals. Good. Employees shouldn’t have their jobs forever, if they perform at a low level. Government agencies, like companies, need the power to turn over staff to find the very best.

You can bet a President Trump will ensure of that.
