Alarming news (it always is these days) out of Guantanamo Bay, President Obama has released Abdel Malik Ahmed Abdel Wahab Al Rahabi (try saying that 5 times fast) from Gitmo prison. Who is that 7 named man, you ask? Only Osama bin Laden’s personal body guard.
Oh, and according to the Washington Free Beacon, he was “a top terror operative who had planned to participate in the 9/11 attacks and who received training to be a suicide bomber.”
But according to his lawyer, al Rahabi was a sweet, innocent family man only interested in peace and farming:
While in custody, al-Rahabi studied English, worked with military officials to help ease tensions in the detention center and worked with several fellow prisoners on an extensively detailed plan for a post-Guantanamo agricultural enterprise, the “Yemen Milk and Honey Farms Limited,” according to his lawyer, David Remes.
He was desperate to get out of Guantanamo and reunite with his wife and daughter. “He’s been waiting for this for a long time,” Remes said.
The lawyer, who has represented more than two dozen prisoners at Guantanamo over the years, said there has been a notable sense of relief among men he has met with at the base in recent weeks.
“It’s no longer a question of whether, or even a question of when, it’s a question of how soon,” Remes said.
We’re all so happy to hear that the Gitmo terrorists are feeling a sense of relief. In fact, why don’t we all join together to throw them a going away party to wish them well in their new lives? Their new lives full of returning to terrorism and killing Americans again, that is.
Come on, this isn’t a man wrongly imprisoned and vindicated by DNA evidence or something. This is a hardened terrorist who worked closely with Osama bin Laden for eff’s sake!
It hasn’t even been a full week since the latest Islamic terrorist attack (was that supposed to be censored?) against our homeland and Obama’s already freeing more terrorists. His destruction of our country continues apace.
